Laughter is good for the soul!

Canada’s comedic sensation, Jay Martin, returns after a spectacular debut with, Jay Martin’s Uptown Comedy Series, featuring celebrity comedian Eddie Griffin.

After the sold-out debut success of Jay Martin’s Uptown Comedy Series at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, Jay Martin returns to make you laugh on Saturday, March 20th, 2010. The show will feature celebrity comedian Eddie Griffin at 8 PM at the Toronto Centre for the Arts (5040 Yonge St.).

Eddie Griffin is known for his hit sitcom, Malcolm and Eddie and movie, Undercover Brother. This show will also feature Toronto’s own funny men Kenny Robinson and Chris Robinson, as well as a surprise musical guest.

The third instalment of Jay Martin’s Uptown Comedy Series takes place on April 18th, 2010 and welcomes In Living Colour actor and the voice of Oscar Proud from Disney’s The Proud Family, Tommy Davidson.

Jay Martin is the series host who welcomes a featured celebrity comic every third weekend of the month to Toronto’s uptown such as Tracy Morgan (Cop Out, 30 Rock) and Mike Epps (Def Comedy Jam, Next Day Air) amongst others.

There will be live performances from Canada’s finest recording artists including Divine Brown, Patricia Shirley, and from the UK, Marsha Ambrosius (Floetry). Guests DJs will provide the soundtrack for the night.

The Jay Martin’s Uptown Comedy Series will also host a raffle in which all the proceeds are donated to various charities.  Every month the lucky winning recipient will have dinner with Jay Martin and the following month’s celebrity guest at Harlem Underground where Executive Chef, Anthony Mair, will prepare soul-food inspired cuisine.
